Today we went on quite the adventure. We went to Edwards Air Force Base to watch the space shuttle land. We were given a few hours notice that the shuttle had been redirected to Edwards so we ran home from church grabbed the camera, changed our clothes and started out. After driving to the middle of nowhere we reached the viewing area and waited patiently. Here are some blurry shots of the shuttle. Conner delighted in hearing the double sonic boom too!
Conner described it well when he said, "it looked like a bug" it was still very far away, and you could have seen it better on TV for sure. However, Steve and I both remember going to watch the shuttle land when we were little and wanted Conner to have that experience as well. Too bad in a pre 9-11 world you could go on base and see a lot more! Oh well, he loved it and enjoyed playing in the dirt while we waiting. The helicopter was really cool too!
