This morning Conner and I went and visited Santa at the mall. He has been warming up to him for the past few weeks when we walked by and waved. Today was the day, he wanted to go sit on his lap. Conner very politely introduced himself and shock Santa's hand. Then sat on his lap and told him what he wanted for Christmas. Of course it was a train item which Santa glommed onto and told him how much Santa likes to ride on trains and deliver trains to little boys houses. Conner thought that was great and then very matter a factly told Santa " You know, you are not the real reason why we celebrate Christmas. The real reason is because it's Jesus's birthday." Santa looked aghast for a few seconds and then said, "You are exactly right young man." He then looked at me and said "You have a very special little boy here!". I have to agree with him. I am constantly amazed at Conner and how so often he puts me back in the proper perspective.
